Overall not bad. Think the steering/ front suspension might need looked at, or maybe it is just the alignment. And tires. But that is for a later post.
That said, 22 MPG with an average speed of 73 MPH. I’m... impressed?
And yes.
I bought a supercharged Jag with an illuminated check engine light.
That is how you know it is working... right?

At least you know the check engine light isn’t burned out.
How cool is the J-gate?
My X-type is too a real Jaguar

All good so far. As soon as you find and pull the fuse on that CEL, you can rest easy.

Just going to say I saw this in a news reportabout a carjacking today
“ “That male passenger gets out of the car,” Gray said, “and gets into a Jaguar that has just arrived at the gas station.”
The Jaguar and BMW then left the gas station together, traveling west on 4700 South. After turning onto 3400 West, the woman driving the BMW got out of the car and tried to run to the Jaguar. She was taken into custody by police at the scene, and the male in the Jaguar fled.
“He eventually turned south onto Bangerter (Highway) off 6200 South, and then he comes to a stop,” Gray said. The Jaguar’s owner told police that his car was having problems, so it’s unclear whether Hansen stopped voluntarily or because of trouble with the vehicle”

Rest assured that if your car ever gets stolen, it won’t get very far. That said, if it gets stolen while
having problems, would you want it back?

FWIW, my XJR with the same basic engine package threw a check engine soon after I got it for a cause which turns out to be really common - coked up EGR valve. Leads to a fuel trim error code. Taking the EGR apart and scraping out the carbon deposits fixes it. You might be lucky enough that it’s the same thing - the power train in these has remarkably few problems, it’s the rest of the car that’s the issue.

As a recovering Jag addict, I fully support this and am glad to see it happening. Had the dealer worked with me even in the tiniest bit I might have an XE r sport instead of the 340i, but alas I am back in the german camry club.
